1. About these Terms

These Terms apply to accounts, visits, community services, region services and protected portal functions provided through Ansjela Grid. Ansjela Grid is a personally managed international OpenSimulator community. By creating or using an account, ordering a region or using protected services, you agree to the version recorded for your account.

2. Accounts and access

The website account and the in-world avatar account are separate. Users must register the website account with the email address connected to the avatar account, choose a separate website password and never enter the in-world password on the website. Email confirmation and a verified avatar link are required before protected avatar and region functions become available. Account information must be accurate and credentials must not be shared. Ansjela Grid may restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance or serious breaches of these Terms.

3. Community conduct

Treat other people with respect. Harassment, threats, discrimination, deliberate disruption, fraud, unlawful content, rights infringement and attempts to bypass security are not accepted. Reports are reviewed in context and we prefer calm contact and practical solutions whenever that is safe and reasonable.

4. Region packages and payment

Region packages use a 5 × 5 land size and the package price shown on the order page. Payment is arranged in-world or by email with Ansjela. The website records administrative status only and does not store PayPal credentials, bank details or payment passwords.

Region periods are paid in advance. If a user voluntarily ends a region after a paid period has started, the unused part of that period is not normally refunded. Cancellation stops future periods and does not work retroactively. Mandatory legal rights, correction of duplicate or incorrect payments and cases where the agreed service was not delivered remain unaffected.

5. Missed payments and personal arrangements

Ansjela Grid is deliberately flexible. A late date does not automatically lock or remove a region. We first ask the user to make contact. If the user wishes to stay, missed months must be resolved. Depending on the individual circumstances, Ansjela or Bouncer may agree to full payment, instalments, a reduced amount or another reasonable arrangement. No automatic interest or penalty is added by the website.

6. Locking and ending a region

When contact is requested, the region normally remains active for four weeks. If no workable arrangement is made, management may set a clear lock date. After a region is locked, it may remain on the server for another four to eight weeks, only while capacity and server space allow. The exact date shown in the secure portal is leading. Final removal is a deliberate management action and not an automatic consequence of being one day late.

7. OAR and IAR backups

OAR and IAR backups follow a rolling one, two and three month cycle. After the third monthly backup has been created and checked, the oldest backup may be removed. Ansjela Grid does not provide permanent personal archive storage and cannot guarantee that an older OAR or IAR is still available.

If a user has not paid for two or three months, ends the region and later asks for an available OAR, Ansjela Grid may charge an OAR handling contribution. This covers locating, checking, preparing and transferring the file and the server and storage resources involved. The amount and availability are agreed before work begins. A request does not guarantee that a usable file still exists.

8. Messages and official information

The secure member portal is the primary place for official account, region and payment information. Members may also exchange simple personal text messages. Email may be used only to notify a user that a message is waiting. Users should sign in through the known Ansjela Grid website rather than relying on payment details or urgent instructions received only through email or in-world messages. Personal messages may be reviewed by authorised management only when a message is reported or when this is reasonably necessary to investigate misuse.

9. Intellectual property

Original texts, images, logos, code and site design remain protected by the rights of Ansjela Grid, Bouncer Debbel or the relevant rights holder. They may not be copied, republished, sold or used to imitate the service without prior written permission, except where applicable law permits otherwise. Users remain responsible for content they upload and must have the necessary rights.

10. Availability and liability

We work to keep the grid reliable, but maintenance, technical faults, external services, internet failures or capacity limits can affect availability. No uninterrupted service is promised. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Changes to these Terms

Minor corrections that do not change rights, costs or obligations may be published without a new acceptance request. Material changes are announced in advance by email and through the secure portal. When renewed agreement is required, the user must actively accept the new version. The system records the version, account and date of acceptance, and older versions remain available. A user who does not agree may still read official messages and contact management to discuss the consequences or ending the service.

12. Privacy and records

Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Administrative records may be kept where needed for service delivery, security, disputes, legal obligations and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Internal notes are visible only to authorised management.

13. Governing law and contact

Dutch law applies, while directly applicable European Union law and mandatory consumer protection remain in force. A choice of Dutch law does not remove mandatory protection that would otherwise apply. Questions can be sent through Help & contact or through the secure member portal.
